Meet Sebastian and Satish at 6.50am to have breakfast together in the canteen but we were all late. So we decided to have a soybean milk for breakfast and grab something to eat on the bus. We are going on an outside trip to the yellow crane tower. On the way there, we went to a lake, a museum and also a street of good food. At our very first stop, my group together with group 2 paid to get a ride on a tram to tour the whole lake. The very first stop was qu yuan's statue, we took photo with the statue and proceed to the next stop. At the second stop, we paid for a game of bow and arrow and also a game of cannon. Guess that the game to a very long time, we were drove back straight to the meeting point without stopping at the other stops. After the first station which is the lake, we head off for the museum. On the way there, the tour guide explained why is Wuhan so warm during summer, the buildings and the historical events that have happen on the land of Wuhan. It was very interesting and fun to know that so many things have actually happen in Wuhan.Upon reaching the museum, we were told that we have to go through a security check and the camera we use is not suppose to have flash switch on. We had a tour around the museum, it is very amazing to see the tomb of the chu rulers. After the tour at the museum, we were bought to the food street where many of there local dishes are located. Did not manage to get a seat so we have to stand up eating behind a card booth. The payment of food is using a card system, I have tried various food that we did not get a chance to eat in Singapore. Smelly toufu, noodles and snails. And the last station, the yellow crane tower. We have to climb up the main tower which have a very nice view of the surroundings. Saw a special musical instrument and i decided to buy it, I also bought two decorations which we can request them to write our name inside. After the whole tour, we were drive back to Wuhan University Of Science And Technology. Everyone slept on the bus on the way back. After dinner, my group went for a walk outside cumpus. Found out that there is a bakery outside school that sells bread and cakes that is very nice, bought a few more for breakfast the next morning. Back to hostel and off to sleep.
During the tour at the lake, I tried shooting with a bow and arrow. Luckily that I am not born early during the war period, I think I am not able to fight a war with a bow and arrow as it was very heavy and painful to shoot. At the museum, during the security check, I am thinking that why do the people there have to be so uptight with the things inside. When I enter and tour the museum, I am amazed and touched to be able to see things that actually belong to people 2000 years back. Everything is very impotant as it tells a story behind thus it is very important to protect the historical items. It is important to know our roots thus it is very important to have these historical items to remind ourselves to appreciate what we have now. At the yellow crane tower, we were told the myth of the hundred cranes. This myth is very interesting and meaningful. I also got to see how the yellow crane tower was used throughout the various dynatsy. It was first used for military purposes but in the end it is now a place for sight seeing. To be able to stand at this historical building really make me feel proud that I am a Chinese.
